The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a postdoctoral associate to join this new initiative focused on designing and developing novel medical devices for human use.
The successful applicant will work on several projects aimed at improving diagnosis and therapy of metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic diseases. These projects involve computational modeling, device design and manufacturing, optimization of chemical, mechanical, and electrical properties, and preclinical experiments. CENTMED offers multidisciplinary training with significant academic freedom across various high-impact translational projects. The candidate will collaborate with PhD-level scientists, graduate, and undergraduate students, gaining skills in manuscript and grant proposal writing, research advising, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Applicants must have a BS in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. The primary project involves designing and implementing a wearable blood pressure monitoring system using ECG and PPG (or bio-impedance).
