Job Purpose

Responsible for developing and managing an efficient and profitable rental sales equipment business. Manage, empower, and motivate the rental sales force to achieve and exceed revenue targets while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute used and rental sales plans to improve market share across all segments.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements within the territory.
  • Coordinate with branch sales managers to ensure proper preparation and efficient delivery of used equipment to customers.
  • Support branch sales staff in resolving customer queries and problems related to used/rental equipment, providing guidance as needed.
  • Analyze the competitive environment and develop strategies to address it.
  • Create and monitor rental equipment business plans to meet annual budgets and revenue targets.
  • Consolidate branch forecasts for equipment purchases and sales.
  • Review ordering requirements with the VP to ensure adequate inventory to meet market demands while achieving inventory turnover targets.
  • Maintain inventory in good condition, properly stored, and secured.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent aged inventory situations.
  • Manage the rental fleet effectively to meet performance targets (utilization, profitability, ROI) and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Department to ensure adequate insurance coverage for the rental fleet.
  • Review monthly performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure the sales team uses the CRM system to manage activities and business opportunities according to established rules.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality and timeliness of quoting, invoicing, and product delivery.
  • Develop individual annual call plans with the sales team to ensure effective market coverage.
  • Provide timely reports to senior management on market and business conditions.
  • Analyze lost sales, closure rates, and participation metrics regularly.
  • Collaborate with suppliers in advertising and promotional activities.
  • Assist the Accounts Department in receivables collection when necessary.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and security of rental vehicles and facilities.
  • Oversee equipment rollout across branches to maximize value and profits.
  • Support branches in the sales of used and rental equipment.
  • Procure used equipment from pre-approved sources based on forecasts and set pricing.
  • Develop and manage re-marketing tools such as trade-ins, buybacks, lease agreements, and rental options.
  • Monitor local and international equipment prices to stay competitive.
  • Guide Rental Managers in preparing rental rate lists for branches.
  • Attend auctions and fairs, analyzing their impact on company sales in the Gulf region.
  • Create sales incentive schemes to motivate the sales force.
  • Work with parts and service managers to negotiate repair rates for rental equipment.
  • Provide various reports to senior management on business conditions and performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.
