Job Summary

The Remote Sensing Technician is responsible for the execution of all remote sensing solutions that apply to tests at the Abu Al Abyad Test Range and off-site test activities involving the use of radars (tracking and surveillance), flight termination system and telemetry.

Key Accountabilities
  • Work with the assigned test engineers and team lead for conducting tests that require the application of tracking radars, flight termination and telemetry.
  • Set up and operate the requested test system for the relevant flight tests.
  • Provide feedback to test procedures to improve test safety and reliability.
  • Prepare the raw data to be used in test reports.
  • Ensure that the relevant test equipment is used according to Range documentation.
  • Search for new opportunities to improve productivity and safety in the area of expertise.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Understanding of radar and telemetry technology.
  • Ability to set up and operate radars, telemetry and flight termination equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Flexible approach to work – willing to work overtime, ad hoc shifts or on customer sites as required.
  • Fluent in spoken English.
  • Technical training as mechanical or electrical technician or equivalent experience.
