Job summary

Kalam is seeking professional remote interpreters fluent in Chuukese and English to join an international team and support clear cross-cultural communication. You will perform over-the-phone and video remote interpretation with a primary emphasis on healthcare, ensuring accuracy, neutrality, and professionalism in every conversation.

Qualifications

• Native Chuukese speaker with fluent English.
• Minimum 1 year of OPI or VRI interpretation experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.
• International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are advantageous.
• High school diploma in native language.
• Strong communication, listening, and memory skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation between Chuukese and English speakers across industries, with focus on healthcare.
• Maintain neutrality and professionalism in every conversation.
• Support clear communication across cultures as an Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI) / Video Remote Interpreter (VRI).
