What Does a Relationship Officer in Commercial Banking Do?

  1. Manage a portfolio of 700-800 non-borrowing commercial clients
  2. Achieve monthly and annual KPIs including revenue generation, product cross-sell, and activation targets
  3. Deepen customer relationships through needs-based selling and cross-selling of products such as accounts, loans, trade solutions, FX, and bancassurance
  4. Ensure an exceptional onboarding experience with proper documentation and timely KYC updates
  5. Refer eligible clients to specialized units for upselling or loan conversions
  6. Monitor client account performance, ensuring compliance and adherence to bank policies

What Are the Key Responsibilities?

  1. Generate referrals through existing clients and proactive market penetration
  2. Maintain accurate and timely sales reports
  3. Ensure customers receive transparent information and appropriate financial advice
  4. Monitor account activity and report irregularities
  5. Attend assigned training sessions to remain updated on FAB's evolving offerings
  6. Understand competition landscape and contribute ideas for product/process improvement
  7. Follow compliance and audit policies to maintain high standards and risk control
  8. Support client retention and relationship management efforts

What Skills Are Needed for a Relationship Officer in Dubai?

Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

Experience: 1-2 years in a banking role with a focus on customer service or direct sales; experience in commercial banking is an advantage

Skills: Fluent in both English and Arabic; strong client engagement and interpersonal communication; ability to manage customer portfolios and deliver tailored financial solutions; awareness of compliance requirements, onboarding regulations, and risk control measures; results-driven with a focus on targets and growth opportunities
