Job Purpose

Ensure ENEC and its subsidiaries (Enterprise) adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies to mitigate compliance risks. This role involves developing, implementing, monitoring, and managing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to business units to ensure regulatory obligations are met effectively. Serve as a key advisor to senior management, identifying compliance gaps, addressing regulatory inquiries, and liaising with external regulatory bodies as needed.

Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability

Regulatory Compliance Program Management

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Ensure the enterprise complies with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, directly impacting operational integrity and reducing regulatory risks.
  2. Contribute to the enterprise’s strategic objectives by aligning compliance efforts with business goals.
  3. Develop and manage compliance frameworks, policies, and monitoring systems for diverse regulatory requirements.
  4. Coordinate with legal, finance, HR, and operational teams to address compliance challenges.
  5. Respond to regulatory inquiries and audits, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  6. Identify and address compliance gaps by designing proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  7. Advise leadership on emerging regulatory trends and implications.
  8. Apply knowledge of regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and best practices to ensure legal and ethical operations.
  9. Provide training and guidance to promote a compliance-driven culture.
  10. Act as liaison with regulatory authorities, fostering relationships.
  11. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed compliance into operations.
  12. Lead compliance programs and initiatives to maintain ethical standards enterprise-wide.
  13. Support management decisions on compliance matters for informed actions.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance Program

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Maintain and update the Enterprise Compliance Universe with current legislation.
  2. Map legislation to the EGRC and communicate to relevant functions via compliance registers.
  3. Ensure smooth operation of EGRC monitoring and data uploads.
  4. Address technical issues with the EICT to ensure EGRC efficiency.
  5. Establish a regular compliance monitoring process, including assessment planning, validation, and evidence verification.

Compliance Monitoring and Assurance

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Develop and implement compliance monitoring to ensure accurate reporting.
  2. Define and inform compliance community members about relevant compliance areas and updates.
  3. Conduct monitoring activities to identify breaches or deficiencies.
  4. Follow up promptly on non-compliance issues to ensure corrective actions.
  5. Escalate findings to senior management.

Recording and Reporting

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Maintain comprehensive records related to compliance functions for audits and assessments.
  2. Generate periodic compliance reports accurately and timely.

Professional Certifications

ICA Advanced Certificate or Diploma, Certified Risk Professional (CRP), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Law, Auditing, or relevant fields.

Experience

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience; preferred 15 years in industry, especially in Nuclear or similar sectors, with at least 5 years in a senior compliance role such as Chief Risk Officer or Chief Compliance Officer, and 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
