Job description

PURPOSE: The Regional Strategic Development Director is the main point of contact between the company and clients in the assigned countries, ensuring alignment between client needs, operations, and R&D. The role is key to business development, operational planning, and cross-functional communication.

KEY TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with operational goals in the designated country.
  • Collaborate closely with the Vice President, Operations, R&D and other departments to ensure seamless coordination between sales and operations.
  • Manage client relationships, understanding their current and future requirements, and staying abreast of business trends.
  • Oversee and manage customer contracts within the designated country, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Expand market presence and drive growth in the assigned country.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and partners to maintain and expand business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President to support the overall financial performance of the designated country, including managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities.
  • Monitor budget and work towards improving cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with operational and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services.
  • Responsible for operations and logistics, overseeing schedules, training, readiness, and performance of field personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President and R&D department for solutions and implementation of new technologies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and contribute to contingency planning for sales and operations.

• Perform work according to Company Quality and HSE requirements

• Set good personal examples on QHSE issues within your area of operation; report all accidents and near misses to your immediate manager; always lead by example and set high standards

  • Actively participate in all required aspects of QHSE awareness, education, and training
  • Ensure that the process and governing documents are according to requirements for the process and compatible with the context and strategic direction, applicable legislation, standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain and report Key Performance Indicators and take action as required to ensure agreed performance standards and expectations are achieved.
  • Establish required procedures, work instructions and standard forms within process responsibility.
  • Conduct the required training for the applicable personnel, including local process responsible in all regions.
  • Ensure regular risk assessment of the process according to Risk Assessment & Contingency Planning Procedure

• Ensure all operations both onshore and offshore are carried out in line with guidelines and procedures

• Responsible for the up keep and validity of all required documents necessary for working locally and globally – including but not restricted to Passport, Medical and Survival

• Complete and submit all required paperwork and report accurately and timely

  • Any financial authorities allocated to this role will be as detailed within the appropriate financial procedures and Grant of Authority.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING and JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant educational background, preferably with a degree in Business & Administration, relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales and operational roles, with exposure to the Oil and Gas industry being an advantage.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Operational, commercial, and contract knowledge is beneficial.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid offshore certificate and meet fit-for-work requirements.
  • Leadership and management skills, with the ability to operate in a country manager capacity.
  • Structured, tidy, trustworthy, and approachable.
  • Flexibility to operate within tight timelines and willingness to participate in offshore and field operations.
  • Ability to understand and comply with QHSE policies and procedures.
