A leading company is seeking a Regional Sales Manager for Africa, fluent in French, to drive IT sales growth across the continent. The ideal candidate will develop strategies for market penetration, manage client relationships, and ensure successful delivery of technology solutions. This role requires extensive travel and a proven sales background in the government sector or related technologies.
One of our prestigious clients is looking for a Regional Sales Manager - Africa (French Speaking) for the Africa location.
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving IT sales growth across the Africa region. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions that meet customer needs.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in French, have a strong network across African markets, and have a proven track record in selling IT solutions, software, or services.
Key Responsibilities :
Business Development & Sales Strategy
Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve revenue targets in Francophone African markets.
Identify new leads, partners, and channels for IT solutions and services.
Build strong, sustainable client relationships through consultative selling and value-based engagement.
Market Expansion
Explore and penetrate new territories within French-speaking African countries.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform product positioning and pricing.
Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events in the region.
Account Management
Manage key client accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Drive upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the IT product and service portfolio.
Coordinate with pre-sales and technical teams to deliver tailored solutions.
Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts and activity reports to senior leadership.
Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Product, Operations) to ensure alignment on go-to-market efforts.
Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with company policies and regional legal requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration; MBA in International Business is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of sales experience in security documents, smart cards, identity systems, defense, or related technologies.
Proven track record in government sector sales, particularly across Africa Region.
Fluent in French and English (both spoken and written); additional regional languages are a plus.
Strong understanding of government procurement processes, public tenders, and partner ecosystems.
Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region.
Comfortable working independently and in cross-border, multicultural environments.
Preferred Skills :
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting systems.
Strong organizational and analytical thinking.
