Job summary

LEO Pharma is seeking a Regional Medical Lead to drive global medical strategies across Emerging Markets, tailoring them to local markets and strengthening diagnostic pathways. The role requires significant regional travel (≈60%) to engage with local teams, experts, and partners across the GCC.

You will lead medical readiness for launches, build strong scientific networks, and work across diverse healthcare systems to improve patient outcomes in dermatology and rare diseases.

Qualifications

• PharmD, PhD, or equivalent advanced life sciences degree.
• 8–15+ years Medical Affairs experience in pharma/biotech.
• Experience in GCC region.
• Specialty in immunology or dermatology with biologics knowledge.
• Experience managing multiple countries or regional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Adapting and implementing global rare disease medical strategies to regional/local market needs.
• Developing patient identification programs and diagnostic pathways to improve awareness and diagnosis.
• Building and maintaining scientific relationships with KOLs, investigators, patient groups, and societies.
• Supporting advisory boards, expert meetings, congress activities, investigator-initiated studies, and real-world evidence.
• Leading medical readiness for new product launches and indications, including training for local teams and partners.
• Providing medical oversight for distributor partners and field medical resources.
• Working across cultures and healthcare systems to drive alignment and address unmet needs.

Your role

As Regional Medical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in bringing global medical strategies to life across countries — adapting them to local realities, strengthening diagnostic pathways, and helping improve recognition, access, and outcomes for patients who need it most.

Please note that this role requires significant regional travel, estimated at around 60% of the time, to engage with local teams, external experts, partners, and key stakeholders across Emerging Markets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Adapting and implementing global rare disease medical strategies to regional and local market needs.
• Developing patient identification programs, diagnostic pathways, and initiatives that improve rare disease awareness, recognition, and diagnosis.
• Building and maintaining strong scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, investigators, rare disease experts, patient advocacy groups, and professional societies.
• Supporting advisory boards, expert meetings, congress activities, investigator-initiated studies, real-world evidence, publications, and collaborative research.
• Leading medical readiness activities for new product launches and indications, including medical training and capability development for local teams and external partners.
• Providing medical oversight for distributor partners and external field medical resources, ensuring that local teams have the knowledge, confidence, and scientific grounding to engage effectively in rare diseases.
• Working across diverse cultures, healthcare systems, and levels of market maturity, you will help establish clarity, drive alignment, and identify opportunities that address unmet medical needs.
• A PharmD, PhD, or other advanced degree in life sciences.
• 8–15+ years of Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, for example as Senior MSL, Medical Lead, or Head of Medical.
• Experience working in the GCC region.
• Specialty experience in immunology and/or dermatology, ideally with advanced biologic treatment knowledge; experience in other rare disease areas such as neurology, hematology, metabolic disease, or nephrology will also be considered.
• Experience managing multiple countries or regional responsibilities in culturally diverse environments.
• Strong experience engaging with Key External Experts, investigators, scientific societies, patient advocacy groups, and cross-functional partners.

You will join LEO Pharma’s Emerging Markets medical organization and work closely with the Medical Affairs Director EM, country medical and commercial teams, Global Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, and external partners. The team operates across a dynamic and diverse region, where collaboration, adaptability, and scientific leadership are essential. Together, you will help build capabilities, shape medical strategies, and support better outcomes for people living with rare diseases.
