Regional Business Development Manager Automotive Protection (Dubai/Home)

The Opportunity

We have a role available within our Dubai office to deliver strategic direction across our Automotive Protection book in the Middle-East. Responsible for developing, increasing, and managing Automotive Protection business according to company guidelines, delegated authorities and to manage client relationships.

Your new role

  • Delivery of new and existing business sales targets and plans to develop the Automotive Protection business in the countries that you are responsible for.
  • Research of local markets, customers, distribution channels and network contacts to execute pipeline new business opportunities.
  • Continuously monitor and ensure program progress is on target and any deviations from plan are identified and solutions implemented.
  • Recommend and propose sales campaigns to deliver the business plan and ensure successful performance.
  • Provide communication for development or enhancement of the products.
  • Deliver timely decisions and problem solving solutions for customers and partners.
  • Provide customer and market updates and other relevant input during budgeting process.
  • Establish planning and implementing strategies to build and retain customers, achieving production and profitability targets.
  • Support the delivery of the regional marketing approach in line with the global automotive protection marketing strategy.
  • To assess new sales opportunities together with individual country, regional and global underwriting teams, to ensure alignment with QBE s strategy, underwriting appetite and business plan.
  • Regularly review income and loss ratio performance on business, aligning with the underwriting team to make sure it is line with business plan. If necessary, take the remedial actions to ensure that we deliver on the business plan.
  • To support the launch of new programs, ensuring all terms of cover, processes and procedures are implemented accurately within agreed timescales and in accordance with requirements.
  • Ensure that all output adheres to the relevant legal, compliance & regulatory frameworks and corporate policies to minimise risk to the business.
  • Identify and implement best practice and process improvements.
  • Develop the portfolio in line with plan, to ensure retention and acquisition of desired business.
  • Undertake insurance product and/or sales training to business partners.
  • May mentor junior employees.
  • Motivate and develop the team.

About you

  • Substantial work experience in automotive industry and/or affinity business and/or automotive financing or banking.
  • Established local relationships and network within local automotive industry and/or automotive financing companies ideally in the Middle-East.
  • Business development skills, strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
  • Communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, achieve targets and deadlines, analytical and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in local language and English language.
  • Knowledge of local insurance industry regulations and statutory processes.
