Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow safety procedures before starting any equipment maintenance.
- Use proper signage, tag-in/tag-out procedures, and PPE during maintenance works.
- Have strong knowledge of hazards involved and safety precautions.
- Follow checklists for maintenance and maintain accurate service records of all equipment.
- Maintain chillers, freezers, blast freezers, etc.
- Clean, lubricate, grease, and inspect cooling coils, blowers, motors, pumps, and other routine parts.
- Install air-conditioning units and maintain refrigeration systems for smooth operation.
- Overhaul and service refrigeration units, repair or replace compressors, condensers, vacuum pumps; inspect and fix leaks, and recharge units as needed; clean and replace filters; inspect heating elements.
- Perform repairs or adjustments on piping, valves, fittings using hand tools, drill press, welding, brazing, and soldering.
- Recommend improvements on techniques and methods.
- Maintain effective preventive maintenance practices for chillers, freezers, and HVAC systems.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with customers, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Provide support after hours in emergencies, workshops, meetings, and company functions.
- Process requisitions for tools and parts, ensuring availability to avoid delays.
- Maintain organized storage of supplies for efficient operations.
- Issue materials based on work specifications and log issuance.
- Prepare and submit monthly checklist records.
- Attend to maintenance requests and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Apply repairs and preventive maintenance effectively and promptly.
- Return damaged or excess materials to the storeroom.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy.
- Review spare parts inventory periodically and coordinate with stock personnel.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, tests, and adjustments on equipment.
- Report findings and breakdowns immediately to the Duty Engineering Manager.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Complete scheduled maintenance on time and document it.
- Monitor areas daily for abnormalities and report them.
- Test equipment weekly and record results.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Comply with hotel rules and regulations.
- Ensure assigned tasks are completed effectively and on time.
- Recommend corrective actions for variances in standards and budgets.
- Propose and implement staffing adjustments based on business volume.
- Maintain effective communication within and across departments.
- Communicate effectively with guests, subordinates, supervisors, and other departments.
- Attend daily briefings and departmental meetings.
- Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Resolve problems professionally.
- Assist others to ensure smooth operation.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Understand and perform all departmental roles as required.
- Know department policies and guide others accordingly.
- Maintain high-quality standards in service and presentation.
- Review and propose service standards.
- Assist colleagues as needed.
- Maintain grooming standards for self and staff.
- Conserve energy and water, and protect the environment.
