Job summary

Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to join the Engineering team responsible for operation, maintenance and repair of all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment across the hotel.

Based in Abu Dhabi, you will work under the Refrigeration Engineer to ensure optimum efficiency, respond to guest requests within 15 minutes, and maintain safe, clean plant rooms while upholding Emirates Palace standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in operation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of chillers, refrigerators, freezers and cold rooms.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults efficiently.
• Experience in hotel or hospitality environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment including walk-in cold rooms and other commercial/industrial systems.
• Perform preventive refrigeration maintenance and service electrical control systems.
• Respond to guest maintenance requests promptly, within 15 minutes when possible.
• Maintain clean plant rooms, workshops, and safe, tidy work areas.

About The Job

Based at the Emirates palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Engineering Department, The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment throughout the hotel, in accordance with Emirates Palace standards, to ensure optimum operating efficiency at all times. The Refrigeration Technician reports to the Refrigeration Engineer.

As a Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for the following duties

• Repair and maintenance of all types of refrigeration equipment such as walk in cold-room and freezer rooms and other commercial/industrial refrigeration equipment
• Carries out preventive refrigeration and routine maintenance. Attends to repairs and maintenance of refrigeration equipment electrical control system
• Responds to a guest’s maintenance request within 15 minutes of receipt of the same
• Ensure that the supplied uniform is clean and in good repair. Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance before entering a guestroom or public areas
• Ensure that the plant rooms, workshops and related areas are kept clean and tidy
• Observes prescribed safety standards. Helps maintain safe conditions for self and others
• Performs related duties and special projects assigned
• Interacts with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.

As a Refrigeration Technician, We Expect From You

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults efficiently.
