Job summary

AccorHotels Middle East in Dubai seeks a detail-oriented AC & Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain and repair HVAC systems across our properties. You will work independently and with the engineering team to ensure peak performance, safety and compliance with UAE regulations.

The role requires 2-year ITI or 3-year Diploma in HVAC & Refrigeration, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and a valid UAE driving license. Excellent problem-solving and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in HVAC & Refrigeration required.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools including manifold gauges, multimeters, and refrigerant recovery equipment.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and system documentation.
• Valid UAE driving license and ability to travel to multiple job sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems across our properties.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance for HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Conduct pressure testing, leak detection and refrigerant recovery per UAE regulations.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and service calls to minimize downtime.
• Document all service work and maintain safety and compliance.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient AC & Refrigeration Technician to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems across our commercial and residential properties. You will work independently and collaboratively to ensure all systems operate at peak performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

• Demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize multiple maintenance requests, breakdowns, and operational requirements effectively.
• Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and local regulations.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal efficiency, reliability, and equipment longevity.
• Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, and refrigerant recovery procedures in accordance with UAE environmental requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and service calls and provide timely solutions to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruption.
• Monitor HVAC, refrigeration, and other engineering equipment during shifts and report any abnormalities or potential issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Carry out daily engineering inspections and ensure all equipment and systems are operating safely and efficiently.
• Able to work independently during assigned shifts and take full responsibility for shift-related engineering activities.
• Perform shift technician duties, including monitoring equipment, responding to guest and operational requirements, and ensuring smooth engineering operations throughout the shift
• Document all service work, repairs, preventive maintenance, readings, and other maintenance activities clearly and accurately.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following all hotel safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and applicable health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to complete complex installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Support other engineering disciplines when required and assist the team in resolving operational and maintenance issues.
• Maintain good housekeeping in workshops, plant rooms, and work areas and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and developments in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Demonstrate good communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time-management skills while carrying out shift responsibilities.
• Ensure proper handover of ongoing issues, completed works, equipment status, and pending maintenance activities to the incoming shift.

Qualifications

• ITI (2 years) in HVAC & Refrigeration or Diploma ( 3 years) in HVAC & Refrigeration (required)
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools including manifold gauges, multimeters, and refrigerant recovery equipment
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and system documentation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple job sites
• Knowledge of UAE regulations and standards for HVAC and refrigeration work (preferred)
• Experience with commercial refrigeration systems (preferred)
• Additional trade certifications in HVAC or refrigeration (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
