Job description

Overview:

We are seeking a commercially astute and regionally experienced professional to lead international operations across African markets. This role involves end-to-end ownership of market strategy, planning, stakeholder engagement, and team development. The ideal candidate will drive business growth through integrated market plans, trade agency oversight, and operational excellence, contributing to the broader tourism objectives of the organization.

Scope of Work:

  1. Source and evaluate suitable candidates for the Africa Markets role.
  2. Coordinate shortlisting and interviews in liaison with Procurement and Regional Director.
  3. Manage the hiring process from interviews to onboarding.
  4. Provide strategic and operational leadership across Africa markets post-hiring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Strategy: Develop and refine annual business plans and KPIs for African countries in line with organizational objectives.
  • Execution & Oversight: Lead all regional activities from planning through execution and reporting, ensuring alignment with internal departments.
  • Agency & Stakeholder Management: Oversee trade agency performance and maintain strong relationships with key market players.
  • Performance & Reporting: Manage budgets, track ROI, lead CRM strategy, and deliver timely reports for senior leadership.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support associates, coordinators, and agency staff; drive performance and development.
  • Strategic Support: Identify growth opportunities, activate in-market initiatives, and represent the region in cross-functional meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years’ experience in international market operations, preferably in tourism or destination marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of African markets and proven leadership in regional planning and execution.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional processes and lead multicultural teams.

Duration - 12 months (extendible)
