Job summary

A leading educational institution in the UAE is seeking a Receptionist to provide a welcoming environment for visitors and manage communications with parents and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, previous administrative experience, and proficiency in office applications. This role is crucial for maintaining effective communication and supporting the admissions process.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Fluency in English and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job description

The role will involve but is not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain a warm, friendly, and positive welcome to all visitors.
  • Manage phone calls and queries from parents and stakeholders.
  • Resolve queries and questions, liaising with relevant members of the school team for assistance as appropriate.
  • Uphold good communication between all staff and parents.
  • Manage the reception area during drop off and pick up times and special events.
  • Check emails every morning and respond as necessary.
  • Encourage new enrolments by promoting the school to prospective parents and support admissions department as required
  • Check the daily register of students and follow up if children are absent or late.
  • Ensure all registers are accurate based on available data. Monitor and record student attendance and lateness
  • Assist with the fire evacuation process
  • Assist other team members with additional tasks where required.
  • Provide out of hours support when required by the Principal and other departments.
  • Any other duties which may, from time to time, be reasonably assigned by the Principal.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using office applications including Google Workspace
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
  • Fluency in English
  • Proficiency in using a school MIS, CRM and other educational software.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A creative, tenacious, self-motivated individual who thrives under pressure
