What Does a Receiving Clerk Do?
As a Receiving Clerk, your primary role is to manage and verify all hotel deliveries, ensuring that supplies and inventory meet the required quality, quantity, and safety standards. You’ll be an integral part of the supply chain process, directly supporting the hotel’s purchasing and accounting departments.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?

  1. Ensure all receiving procedures follow hotel policies and safety standards
  2. Inspect condition, weight, and quality of all goods received before storage
  3. Verify received items against purchase orders, noting quantity and quality
  4. Record delivery details on purchase orders and packaging slips
  5. Flag and document any discrepancies or damaged goods
  6. Maintain a daily receiving log for non-food and beverage items
  7. Submit daily reports and relevant packaging slips to the Accounts Payable Clerk
  8. Keep receiving records up to date and organized for easy reference
  9. Collaborate with stores and procurement teams to streamline supply processes
  10. Support inventory control and stock rotation as needed
What Skills Are Needed for a Receiving Clerk in Ajman?
Education:
  • High school diploma or vocational training in logistics or hotel operations is an asset
Experience:
  • Prior experience in receiving, inventory, or procurement roles within hospitality is preferred
Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling delivery documentation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
  • Reliable, responsible, and organized in daily operations
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift and inspect goods
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and hotel purchasing procedures is a plus
