Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect deliveries of food, beverages, general, engineering, and operational supplies to ensure they conform to quality specifications and that a purchase order exists for the supply.
- Ensure that items are received on the expected delivery date.
- Check unit prices against the purchase order.
- Open boxes for inspection.
- Weigh received items.
- Stamp and sign invoices.
- Transfer all perishable items from supplier containers to hotel crates.
- Send perishables to the washing and cleaning area.
- Distribute store items to respective stores and direct purchases to requesting departments.
- Obtain the Executive Chef's opinion on all kitchen received items.
- Record all receipts in the system and prepare receiving reports.
- Maintain and periodically check the accuracy of weighing scales in the receiving area.
- Maintain a temperature register in the receiving area as required by Municipality.
- Keep the receiving area clean.
- Obtain approval from the requesting department for direct purchases.
- Forward invoices for food & beverage items to the cost control section.
- Forward other supplier invoices to accounts payable.
- Report deviations to the Cost Controller.
- Notify purchasing of undelivered or non-standard items.
- Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Analyze problems, recommend solutions, and monitor outcomes.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Kitchen Stewarding to maintain hygiene standards at the Receiving Bay.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or senior staff.
Commercial Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with business partners, suppliers, and staff.
Human Resources Responsibilities:
- Provide effective training on cross-training to staff.
Relationship:
- Report to Assistant Store Officer or Cost Control Officer.
- Coordinate with other hotel managers.
Others:
- Engage in continuous learning through personal IDP.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
- Vocational certificate in any discipline (minimum).
- At least 1 year of relevant experience; fresh graduates are welcome.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Positive attitude and drive to excel.
- Professional demeanor with good interpersonal skills.
