Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Inspect deliveries of food, beverages, general, engineering, and operational supplies to ensure they conform to quality specifications and that a purchase order exists for the supply.
  2. Ensure that items are received on the expected delivery date.
  3. Check unit prices against the purchase order.
  4. Open boxes for inspection.
  5. Weigh received items.
  6. Stamp and sign invoices.
  7. Transfer all perishable items from supplier containers to hotel crates.
  8. Send perishables to the washing and cleaning area.
  9. Send store items to respective stores and direct purchases to requesting departments.
  10. Obtain the Executive Chef's opinion on all kitchen received items.
  11. Record all receipts in the system and prepare receiving reports.
  12. Maintain and periodically check the accuracy of weighing scales in the receiving area.
  13. Maintain a temperature register in the receiving area as required by Municipality.
  14. Keep the receiving area clean.
  15. For direct purchases, obtain approval from the requesting department for received items.
  16. Forward food and beverage invoices to the cost control section.
  17. Forward other supplier invoices to accounts payable.
  18. Report deviations to the Cost Controller.
  19. Inform the purchasing department of undelivered or returned items that do not meet standards.
  20. Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality requirements.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Analyze problem areas, recommend solutions, and monitor results.
  2. Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work closely with the Executive Chef and Kitchen Stewarding to maintain high hygiene standards at the receiving bay.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance, Chief Accountant, or seniors.

COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Communicate effectively with business associates, F&B suppliers, and staff.

HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide effective cross-training to staff.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Reports to Assistant Store Officer / Cost Control Officer.
  2. Coordinates with other managers for hotel activities.

OTHERS:

  1. Engage in continuous learning through personal IDP.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.
