Job Purpose
Provide in-depth fundamental technical reactor engineering skills, knowledge, technological depth and leadership in support of Reactor Engineering in Strategic Engineering Division activities as assigned by the Director, including strategic planning, complex analyses, stakeholder engagement & management performance analysis, coaching and mentoring.

Activity:
Engineering Advisory
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Provide support to engineering strategic planning to provide a deep understanding of the evolving technical environment.
- Lead complex self-assessments to provide an independent viewpoint.
- Lead complex root cause analyses to provide an independent and highly experienced viewpoint.
- Define and drive to closure the Reactor Engineering analysis and reload capability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to determine possible applications to support engineering activities.
- Manage the development and implementation of the Barakah core management system.
- Define strategy to ensure modeling and simulation achieves verification, validation, and accreditation of core design characteristics.
- Provide support in maintaining relationships throughout the plant and engineering organizations to foster excellent communication in support of problem solving and plant support.
- Provide guidance, coaching/mentoring, and training to the Reactor Engineering Manager to foster knowledge transfer and development of reactor engineering management.
- Provide guidance, coaching/mentoring, and training of other reactor engineering staff to foster broader perspectives among less experienced engineers.
- Develop concepts and solutions to complex technical challenges often involving between other engineering divisions, operations and senior management.
- Provide support to reactivity management performance to ensure risks are adequately assessed.
- Consult across engineering disciplines to ensure proper implementation of systems and processes.
- Confer with plant personnel to ensure that the performance of the developed reactor engineering products meets management quality expectations and plant and regulatory requirements.
- Review and identify performance impacts of all technical risks to ensure that risks are factored into any relevant analyses.
- Ensure all operations reactivity maneuvers are planned, scheduled accordingly commensurate with the risk.
Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Support operations and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.
Knowledge Transfer
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Facilitate improved interface between Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, Long Term Engineering Agreement, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power and KEPCO E&C by establishing a regular forum through online media and formal meetings.
- Provide a weekly update to the Engineering VP and Directors on activities, lessons learned and key improvements/achievements.
- Produce a monthly report on KHNP operations, technical insights and improvements/support provided to BNPP or design and configuration changes implemented at Shin Kori.
- Attend and engage in the following meetings to remain up to date with current BNPP issues and provide insight and sharing of information:
- Design Interface Control Board (DICB) Meeting and ensure follow up of actions/discussion areas between ENEC/BNPP and KEPCO.
- Daily Review Engineering Alignment Meeting (DREAM) to stay aligned and up to date on BNPP operational issues.
- Plant Health Committee to understand latest issues and ensure Top 10 PHC plant issues are presented to appropriate forums in KHNP/KEC for input and advice. To provide input and advice from KHNP/KEC on PHC issues to the relevant leads.
- Nawah weekly Engineering issues Meeting to stay aligned and up to date on BNPP engineering issues.
- ENEC weekly Engineering Issues Meeting for Unit 2, 3 and 4 to stay aligned and up to date on BNPP engineering issues.
- Design Engineering Weekly Design Change Review Meeting to stay aligned and up to date on design engineering issues.
- Design Change Control (DCC) Meeting to understand the current priorities for design changes at BNPP and ensure these are presented to appropriate forums in KEC for input and advice. Also, to provide input and advice from KEC on design change proposals to the relevant leads.
- Engineering Monthly Management Review Meeting to stay aligned and up to date with the Engineering management team and provide any insights and updates from KEPCO E&C.
- Monthly 1:1 Meeting with Strategic Engineering Director to discuss role, achievements and improvements that can be made.

Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related Science.
10 years of relevant experience, out of which:
- 2 years in a Managerial role.
- 2 years of Nuclear Power Plant engineering experience including:
- Power operations.
- Refueling outage (or initial fuel load).
- Startup Testing.
•Master's degree in engineering or related science and/or SRO certification or previous license holder.
•APR-1400 or APR-1000 maintenance and engineering experience.
