About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an RDA Senior Technologist to join a team of passionate food creatives developing new products for the Foodservice Sweet syrup & sauce markets. We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior R&D Technologist with a strong background in the formulation and development of sweet syrups and sauces tailored for the food service industry. The ideal candidate will support on product development projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring alignment with customer needs, regulatory standards, and manufacturing capabilities.

Key responsibilities
  • Support on the development and optimization of sweet syrups, dessert sauces, and related products for food service applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, Commercial, Regulatory and operations to bring new products to market.
  • Manage projects from ideation to bench development, through scale-up and launch.
  • Evaluate ingredient functionality, flavor profiles, and stability under various storage and usage conditions.
  • Commercially focus on development and application lead creating market suitable, innovative products for strategic Foodservice customers.
  • Support customer presentations, product demos, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot formulation and processing issues in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain detailed records of formulations, test results, and project timelines.
Qualifications and skills
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Preferably a minimum of 4+ years of experience in R&D, specifically in sweet syrups, sauces, or similar food categories.
  • Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, food safety, and sensory evaluation.
  • Experience working with food service clients or QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) chains is highly desirable.
  • Teamwork is essential, the role requires excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to share learnings, manage timelines & feedback results.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, FSMA, local food laws).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using formulation software and sensory analysis tools.
  • Experience with clean label, sugar reduction, or plant-based ingredient systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
