Tangent International are urgently looking for a RAN Project Director to work a 12 month rolling contract based in UAE (Abu Dhabi)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of RAN projects, ensuring all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery meet the required standards.
• Establish project goals, timelines, and budgets, and ensure that project milestones are achieved as planned.
• Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, technical experts, and external partners to deliver RAN solutions (LTE, 5G, vRAN, etc.).
• Provide strategic direction to ensure the successful integration of RAN technologies into customer networks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining strong relationships and providing regular project updates.
• Manage customer expectations and ensure that solutions align with their requirements, driving customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as a liaison between internal teams and customers, ensuring alignment on project goals, timelines, and technical solutions.
• Handle high-level escalations and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Proactively identify project risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
• Ensure timely resolution of problems, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and solutions.
• Monitor and control project scope to avoid scope creep and ensure all deliverables are met on time and within the allocated budget.

Project Execution & Resource Management

• Manage project resources, including budget, personnel, and equipment, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.
• Oversee the planning and coordination of deployment, integration, and optimization phases of RAN projects.
• Ensure that all technical documentation, project plans, and reports are created, maintained, and aligned with internal and customer requirements.

Quality Assurance & Compliance :

• Ensure that RAN projects adhere to quality standards, industry best practices, and customer-specific requirements.
• Oversee the testing and acceptance processes to ensure that RAN solutions meet or exceed performance expectations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout the project.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, engineers, and other technical staff, providing guidance and support to achieve project objectives.
• Foster a collaborative and productive working environment, ensuring strong team dynamics and performance.
• Provide regular training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
• Monitor project performance through regular tracking of KPIs, providing clear and actionable reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Analyze post-project performance and implement improvements to optimize future project execution and delivery.
• Continuously identify areas for process improvement within the project management lifecycle.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile / Scrum) are highly desirable.
• 10+ years of experience in the telecom industry, with at least 5 years in a senior project management role specifically related to RAN (Radio Access Networks).
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale RAN projects (2G / 3G / 4G / 5G, vRAN) for telecom operators.
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and working in cross-functional environments.
• In-depth understanding of RAN technologies, including LTE, 5G NR, C-RAN, vRAN, and radio frequency planning.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills, with the ability to drive project success and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Expertise in project planning, risk management, and resource allocation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, etc.).
