Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities
  1. Perform all radiological examinations for patients referred to the radiology department under the supervision of the Radiologist.
  2. Assist the Radiologist in performing different contrast studies for the urinary tract, GI tract, etc.
  3. Conduct various CT and MR studies for patients under the supervision of the senior radiographer.
  4. Perform portable and mobile X‑ray examinations for patients who cannot be transferred to the radiology department.
  5. Perform C‑arm radiological examinations in the operating theatre using the C‑arm machine.
  6. Prepare reports for the different examinations and ensure results are provided to each patient on a CD.
  7. Ensure delivery of patient care that meets or exceeds local and federal standards.
  8. Maintain accurate records in the Hospital Information System and input radiological images onto the Hospital PACS system.
  9. Prepare patients for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing their needs and providing patient education.
  10. Operate computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation, and perform quality control measures to ensure optimal image quality.
  11. Ensure accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  12. Practice safety measures in radiography and the environment of care.
  13. Apply the profession's Code of Ethics in all aspects of practice.
  14. Perform other related duties as required.
  15. Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards, and procedures, and cooperate with hospital management to ensure compliance.
  16. Work in accordance with documented OSH procedures and instructions.
  17. Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  18. Notify OSH of hazards, incidents, near misses, and issues, and assist with the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports.
  19. Comply with waste management procedures and policies.
  20. Attend applicable OSH infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness programmes.
  21. Use appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/College Degree in Radiography or its equivalent.
  • Current license in the country of origin, with HAAD License to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • Ability to apply technical skills, together with demonstrable knowledge of and interest in sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and physics.
  • Self‑motivation and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Fluent spoken and written English; spoken Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
  • At least three years' experience.
  • A supportive and caring disposition.
  • Adaptability and good time‑management skills.
  • Team‑working ability.
  • Confidence in dealing with stressful situations.
  • IT competencies.
  • Attendance at radiology conferences.
