Job summary

Vertiv Gulf is seeking a laboratory test engineer to ensure samples are prepared, tests run, and reports prepared in a compliant lab environment.

The role requires knowledge of IEC/UL standards, test plan creation, sample follow-up, and accurate report preparation. Expect 10% travel and strict adherence to safety and quality policies in a hot and humid lab setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Power Electronics / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in power electronics products/module testing.
• Familiarity with IEC and UL Standards is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure OHSMS per ISO 45001 in lab and company.
• Ensure EMS per ISO 14001 in lab and company.
• Ensure QMS per ISO 9001 in lab and company.
• Calibrate machines and perform safety checks in lab.
• Inventory management of machines and tools in lab.
• Maintain 5S in the Test Lab at all times.
• Provide prompt feedback and corrections of any deviations.
• Manpower management within the lab.
• Document management and proper storage of soft and hard copy documents.

Brief Job Description: This position will be responsible for ensuring samples, setting up tests, conducting the tests and preparing the reports.

Responsibilities

General

• Ensuring OHSMS requirements as per ISO 45001 in lab (and within company)
• Ensuring EMS requirements as per ISO 14001 in lab (and within company)
• Ensuring QMS requirements as per ISO 9001 in lab (and within company)
• Ensuring machines calibration, safety checks in Lab.
• Machine & Tools inventory management in Lab
• Ensuring 5S in the Test Lab at all times
• Prompt feedback and corrections of any deviations.
• Manpower management
• Document management – proper storage of soft and hard copy documents

• Proactive, punctual attitude of ‘getting things done’

Testing

• Knowledge in IEC 61439-1 & 6, UL 857, 60529 standards
• Test plan creation and update daily
• Strict adherence to test scheduling
• Test sample follow up
• Conducting various testing systematically with strict compliance to SOP

Report Preparation

• Preparing various test reports with utmost care and accuracy

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Power Electronics / Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 3 to 4 years of experience in power electronics products/module testing

Additional / Preferred Qualifications

• Coordinate with production and product testing of new and existing product line.
• Familiarity with IEC and UL Standards is an advantage

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• To be working in hot and humid situations

Time Travel Needed

• 10%
