Job Description
Responsible for creating and testing prototypes, inspecting initial production pieces, and supporting the development of technical solutions. Technical documentation, process testing for quality assurance, and collaboration with various departments. The ideal candidate has a technical background, proficiency in English, and experience in engineering or manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of IEC-61439 & IEC-60529 standards related to switchgear.
- Produce associated documentation with the testing of the panel with detail.
- Use test equipment such as a dielectric tester, multimeter, IR tester, etc.
- Maintain safe working practices and always adhere to quality control & safety procedures.
- Travel to sites, diagnose and fix issues with panels.
- Build good customer relationships and demonstrate testing in the presence of the end customer.
- Accurately read and interpret electrical drawings and instructions, both written and verbal.
- Carry out testing and inspection of finished switchgear panels on the shop floor and at customer premises in line with approved standards and customer requirements.
- Send a panel to site with 100% confidence that it fits within specification and functions as stated.
- Perform and host factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests in the presence of end customers.
- Adhere and actively improve quality control processes and test procedures through feedback to the supervisor.
- Travel to customer sites to support installation as required.
- Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills; manage changing priorities and work flexibly to tight timescales.
- Work productively, efficiently, and effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Work extended and/or unsocial hours as required.

- Ensure 100% PPE compliance when going out to the shopfloor.
- Honestly state any illnesses or issues during induction.
- Avoid wearing jewellery or loose clothing while inside shopfloor.
- Cooperate with employer to comply with OHS requirements.
- Take reasonable care for own health and safety.
- Familiar with emergency equipment such as fire alarm call point and fire extinguishers.
- Full knowledge of emergency assembly procedure.
- Take reasonable care for health and safety of others affected by acts or omissions.
- Knowledge in H&S policy and objectives.
- Coordinate with production supervisors or safety officer for H&S issues observed to be addressed.
- Do not perform other activities until responsibilities are assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- University or high school degree in a technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the switchgear industry.
- Proficiency in English.
- Good knowledge of MS Office; Oracle experience is an advantage.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
6 working days per week. (Note: applicable to manufacturing environment.)
