Job summary

Khatib & Alami in Dubai seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities on major infrastructure projects. You will handle measurement, valuations, variations, cost control, and contract administration within the Consultancy Supervision Team.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Quantity Surveying and at least 10 years of relevant experience, including 7+ years in the UAE on roads, utilities, and civil works, with strong Excel and QS software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 10 years of overall experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 7 years of UAE experience in infrastructure projects.
• Experience in roads, highways, utilities, drainage, infrastructure networks, or related civil works.
• Consultancy experience is mandatory.
• Strong experience in BOQ, measurement, valuations, variations, claims, and contract administration.
• Good knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction practices.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant QS software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documentation.
• Perform detailed measurement and verification of quantities for infrastructure works.
• Review contractor interim payment applications and prepare payment certificates.
• Evaluate variations, change orders, claims, and additional works.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and financial progress.
• Assist with cost forecasting and monthly commercial reporting.
• Review and assess contractor claims in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, variations, payments, and commercial correspondence.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of final accounts.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to the Project Manager and wider supervision team.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives on commercial matters.
• Monitor contractual compliance and identify potential commercial risks.
• Attend progress and commercial meetings and provide quantity surveying input.
• Ensure all commercial activities are carried out in accordance with project procedures, contract conditions, and applicable UAE standards.
