Qualifications

• Experience with BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, tendering, cost estimation, and cost control.

Role Description

The Quantity Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The role involves preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, cost estimates, rate analyses, and tender submissions. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations, monitoring project costs, evaluating variations, preparing running bills and payment applications, and assisting with project cost control.

The Quantity Surveyor will also maintain updated cost reports, track budgets against actual expenditures, coordinate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors, and support management with accurate commercial and cost information to ensure cost-effective project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of Quantity Surveying / Estimation experience, with at least 3 years of experience working within the UAE construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction market rates, labour costs, material pricing, and supplier/subcontractor pricing.
• Strong hands-on experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, tendering, cost estimation, and cost control.
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Experience with variations, running bills, payment applications, and cost reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant quantity surveying/estimating software.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, PlanSwift, CostX, Bluebeam, or similar software is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
