Job summary

KEO International Consultants in Dubai, UAE invites a talented Quantity Surveyor to manage cost, contracts and financial control on large-scale projects. The role requires strong coordination with client, consultants and contractors to keep costs within budget and ensure procurement aligns with objectives.

Ten years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying are essential, with preference for UAE landscaping/infra exposure and roads projects.

Qualifications

  • 10 years work experience with a Bachelor in Quantity Surveying.
  • Hands-on experience in landscaping/large-scale infrastructure projects in the UAE preferred.
  • Experience on roads and infrastructure works valued.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the project budget and provide regular cost reports to client and project team.
  • Oversee procurement documents, tendering processes and contractor selection.
  • Implement and manage FIDIC contracts, review contract conditions, handle variations and disputes.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for different project stages, including material and labor costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and prepare periodic reports for senior management and client.
  • Assess project changes and variations, and manage their budget/timeline impact.
  • Identify financial risks and mitigation strategies in collaboration with the project team.
  • Participate in value engineering exercises to find cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain good relationships with client, contractors and consultants as primary financial/contractual contact.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Dubai, UAE.

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cost, contract, and financial control of a large-scale construction project. The QS will work closely with the client, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure that all financial aspects of the project are accurately tracked and that costs remain within budget. Experience working on roads and infrastructure works will be highly valued.

We envisage success in this role to include:

  • Managing and controlling the project budget and providing regular cost reports to the client and project team. Ensure that the project is delivered within the approved budget and cost expectations.
  • Overseeing the preparation of procurement documents, tendering processes, and contractor selection. Ensure that all procurement activities are in line with project objectives, timelines, and budget.
  • Implementing and managing FIDIC contracts, including reviewing contract conditions, managing variations, and ensuring compliance with contract terms. Resolve any disputes related to contracts, and handle claims and negotiations.
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, including material and labor costs, for different stages of the project. Analyze and advise on costs related to construction methods, resource requirements, and schedule impacts.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions, including cost reports, payments, and contractor claims. Prepare periodic reports for senior management and the client.
  • Managing the assessment, evaluation, and negotiation of project changes and variations. Ensure that changes are appropriately documented and that their impact on the project’s budget and timeline is effectively managed.
  • Identifying and assessing potential financial risks and providing mitigation strategies. Collaborate with the project team to minimize cost overruns and delays.
  • Participating in value engineering exercises to find cost-effective solutions while maintaining project quality and standards.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with the client, contractors, and consultants. Provide advice on cost-related matters and act as the primary point of contact for all financial and contractual issues.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying.

Hands-on experience in landscaping/large-scale infrastructure projects in the UAE is preferred.
