Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our infrastructure maintenance construction and engineering projects, you will play a crucial role in managing costs, contracts, and commercial aspects of our operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrate and implement change control including the administration of Works Order Contract Works and Purchase Orders.
  • Support the Project Manager and Division Director in preparing and submitting Subcontractor Payment Certificates, Internal & External Forecasting, and Accruals.
  • Maintain a database of accredited subcontractors and advise on procurement strategy.
  • Manage the pursuit of Green Claim income liaising with specialist legal representatives and loss adjusters.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies related to commercial processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project costs, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Support the Commercial Manager in achieving commercially driven objectives and monitoring Key Performance Indicators.
  • Promote continual improvement within the organization and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
  • Advise colleagues from other departments on commercial issues relevant to their work.
  • Ensure effective control and evaluation of key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project progress and costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as MRICS or MCInstCES is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably in infrastructure maintenance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement options, and risk management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with specialized quantity surveying software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in bidding processes and proposal preparation.
  • Working experience in construction estimation software (CCS Candy).
  • Knowledge of UAE construction industry standards, practices, and local building codes in Abu Dhabi.
  • PRINCE2 Accreditation is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt to new ideas and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Conduct site visits and work flexibly when required.
