Job summary

Hill International in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs, estimates, and budgets across infrastructure works. You will review quantities, contracts, variations and payment applications to ensure accuracy and contractual compliance.

You will support pre- and post-contract activities, tendering, cost control, and reporting; collaborate with stakeholders to monitor costs and mitigate risks, and prepare forecasts and cost data to meet company requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or QS or related field.
  • Minimum ten years of relevant experience.
  • Familiar with CAD/Civil 3D quantity extraction.
  • Chartered Quantity Surveyor certification preferred.
  • Understanding of costs and FIDIC.
  • Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains budgeting, cost control, estimating and reporting systems for infrastructure works.
  • Reviews variations and payment applications for accuracy.
  • Ensures tender documentation aligns with contracts and company requirements.
  • Prepares forecasts and cost data to support management decisions.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to monitor costs and mitigate financial risks.
  • Ensures compliance with quality, safety, and contractual policies.

Job description

Quantity Surveyor manages project costs, estimates, and budgets to ensure financial efficiency. Reviews quantities, contracts, variations, and payment applications for accuracy and compliance. Supports pre- and post-contract activities, including tendering and cost control. Collaborates with project stakeholders to monitor costs and mitigate financial risks. Prepares reports, forecasts, and ensures adherence to project and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains systems for Design Consultant covering the areas of budgeting, cost control, estimating and reporting for the infrastructure works
  • Experience in the post and pre contract requirements
  • Reviews the various activities of construction projects about variations and submission for Management approvals.
  • Ensures that cost estimating and cost control requirements for variations are incorporated in the tender specification documents.
  • Reviews the cost estimates submitted by Consultant / Contractor and ensures compliance with Agreement, Contract drawings and specifications, and the accuracy of Company requirements.
  • Reviews the Bill of Quantities prepared by Design Consultants and Contractors and ensures that they are according to drawings and specifications.
  • Verifies project control budgets and updates them as required for Management approval.
  • Prepares and reviews the forecasts for the final project costs, including variations, considering the commitments.
  • Prepares and updates cost data to review the cost estimates submitted by the Design Consultant.
  • Reviews final cost reports, assets registers, and project closeout reports for compliance with Contract requirements.
  • Performs other similar or related duties, as assigned.

  • Review and prepare different type of payments
  • Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures in place within Hill International, and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / QS, or a relevant degree.
  • Minimum Ten years of relevant experience.
  • Familiar with CAD/Civil 3D quantity extraction methods.
  • Certified Chartered Quantity Surveyor preferred.
  • An understanding of costs and FIDIC.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Able to develop good working relationships with clients and their agents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.
