Job summary

The Greater Change in the UAE seeks a senior Quality Engineer to own automated testing across a hardware-aware, AI-driven smart home ecosystem. You will design scalable QA frameworks for backend services and mobile apps, drive AI and perception testing, and lead resilience initiatives including chaos testing.

Qualifications

• Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks for backend services (Python/Node.js) and mobile apps (iOS/Android).
• Implement comprehensive Unit Testing and Integration Testing suites to ensure code stability at every commit.
• Develop automated Functional Regression tests to ensure new features in the Agentic OS do not break existing smart home automations.

Responsibilities

• Develop specialised testing methodologies for Perception Servers (Computer Vision/Sensor Fusion).
• Implement AI-based testing to evaluate Agentic Interfaces for hallucinations and logic errors.
• Create Golden Dataset benchmarks to evaluate model performance across conditions and scenarios.

• Role Overview
• The client is seeking a high-caliber Quality Engineer to lead the quality assurance strategy for its entire technology ecosystem. This is not a manual testing role; the client is looking for an automation expert who can build robust, scalable testing frameworks that cover everything from low-level hardware perception to high-level agentic reasoning.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of the client’s Perception Servers, Agentic Infrastructure, Smart Home Servers, and its suite of Mobile/Tablet Applications. The goal is to move beyond “pass/fail” checks and implement sophisticated AI-based testing, Chaos Engineering, and Functional Regression to ensure the client’s customers experience a seamless, fail-safe smart home.Key Responsibilities
• 1. Test Automation Framework Development
• Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks for the client’s backend services (Python/Node.js) and mobile applications (iOS/Android).
• Implement comprehensive Unit Testing and Integration Testing suites to ensure code stability at every commit.
• Develop automated Functional Regression tests to ensure that new features in the client’s Agentic OS do not break existing smart home automations.
• 2. AI & Perception Testing
• Develop specialised testing methodologies for Perception Servers (Computer Vision/Sensor Fusion), ensuring high accuracy in object detection and spatial awareness.
• Implement AI-based testing to evaluate the “reasoning” of the client’s Agentic Interfaces, testing for hallucinations, logic errors, and adherence to user constraints.
• Create “Golden Dataset” benchmarks to evaluate model performance across different environmental conditions and user scenarios.
• 3. Chaos Engineering & Resilience
• Lead Chaos Testing initiatives to ensure the client’s infrastructure can handle unexpected failures (e.g., network drops, sensor malfunctions, or server latency).
• Simulate “edge-case” scenarios in the smart home environment to ensure graceful degradation and system recovery.
• Conduct stress and load testing on the client’s Smart Home servers to ensure stability during peak usage.
• 4. Mobile & Tablet QA
• Oversee the automated and manual testing of the client’s mobile/tablet applications, ensuring a premium UI/UX.
• Validate the end-to-end flow from mobile app command - Cloud/Local Server - Robotic Action.

Technical Requirements

• Test Automation: PyTest, Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress
• Languages: Python (Expert), JavaScript/TypeScript (Proficient)
• Infrastructure & DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI)
• AI & ML Testing: Experience testing LLMs, Vision Models, or Agentic Workflows
• Chaos Engineering: Gremlin, Chaos Mesh, or custom script-based fault injection
• Backend/IoT: MQTT, REST APIs, WebSockets, Home Assistant integration
• Mobile Testing: Xcode Instruments, Android Studio, Firebase Test Lab

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Non-Deterministic Systems: Proven ability to test AI/ML outputs where “correctness” isn’t always a binary value.
• Hardware/IoT Familiarity: Experience testing products that interact with physical hardware or robotics.
• DevOps Mindset: Ability to integrate automated tests directly into the deployment pipeline (Shift-Left testing).
• Analytical Thinking: A passion for finding “the edge case”, thinking like a user who wants to break the system.
