Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control & Audits: Perform quality audits and assessments in line with the company’s Quality Control Program Manual ensuring all documentation reports and company standards are accurate and aligned with industry regulations.
  • Leadership & Direction: Provide technical and administrative direction to the quality control personnel including resolving technical challenges and managing personnel-related matters.
  • Safety Management: Proactively manage safety risks and hazardous conditions on site ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. Collaborate with supervisory personnel to address unsafe practices and improve safety standards.
  • Accident & Safety Investigations: Oversee work area surveillance conduct investigations into property damage and personal injuries and ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety violations or unsafe conditions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all required records reports and safety documentation are complete accurate and submitted in accordance with established procedures. Implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Inspector Coordination: Accompany safety health and insurance inspectors on site tours ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Training & Development: Supervise the safety first aid and rescue squad activities ensuring proper work assignments staffing and training for all personnel.
  • Compliance & Corrective Actions: Actively monitor site activities for compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Implement corrective measures in cases of noncompliance ensuring ongoing improvements in site practices.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry with at least 5 years dedicated to QA/QC responsibilities in buildings-related projects for international consultancy firms.
  • Certifications: ISO 9001 certified auditor is a strong asset.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Architecture or Civil).
  • Regional Experience: Previous experience working in the UAE or the Middle East is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high workload.
    • Proficiency in computer applications related to quality control and safety management.
    • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
    • Proven ability to work autonomously manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach in managing complex tasks.
    • High standards of professionalism and adherence to company policies procedures and work practices.
    • Flexibility to work extended hours or travel as required for project needs.
  • Experience with Construction Sites: Hands-on experience with site supervision quality control inspections and safety management is essential.
