Role Overview

The Quality Controller is responsible for frontline inspection and verification of food quality, temperature control, packaging standards, and hygiene compliance during daily operations at FITT Meals. Working closely with the FSQMS team, this role ensures that all products meet internal quality specifications, customer expectations, and food safety standards before dispatch. The QC acts as a critical checkpoint between production and delivery, identifying and escalating deviations in real time.

Responsibilities

Portioning & Product Quality Checks

  • Perform visual and physical checks of meals during and after portioning
  • Ensure consistency in portion size, ingredient accuracy, and overall presentation
  • Confirm label accuracy and menu match per batch

Temperature & Packaging Control

  • Take and record temperatures of meals, storage units, and dispatch coolers
  • Verify packaging integrity, seal quality, and allergen separation
  • Escalate any deviation from cold chain parameters or damaged packaging

Hygiene & PRP Compliance Monitoring

  • Observe hygiene practices on the floor: PPE usage, glove changes, handwashing
  • Conduct spot checks for cross-contamination risks or non-compliant behavior
  • Report any sanitation lapses to the Compliance Supervisor immediately

Recordkeeping & Escalation

  • Maintain accurate QC logs and complete batch verification sheets
  • Attach photos of non-conformities or exceptions as required
  • Escalate trends or repeated issues to the Food Safety Executive or Supervisor

Batch Release Readiness

  • Provide final visual and compliance clearance of batches before dispatch
  • Assist in ensuring dispatch vans meet hygiene and temperature requirements before loading
  • Support rework coordination if a batch fails compliance check
