Job summary

A leading company in the UAE is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to oversee and manage QC functions across various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering and substantial experience in EPC projects, specifically within the petrochemical or oil and gas sectors. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to coordinate with multiple stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications

Job Description

1. To undertake QC functions in the workplace for daily QC activities.

2. To conduct inspection of raw materials, bought out items, review of Material Test Certificates (MTC), and specification requirements.

3. To interface and coordinate with clients for QC matters and coordinate with third-party inspection agencies for all related inspection activities.

4. To prepare Quality Control procedures and Inspection Test Plans (ITP) according to project requirements and client specifications.

5. To plan and supervise Subcontractor inspection activities and review Subcontractor QC performance.

6. To supervise staff for reporting, recording, and inspection activities.

7. To prepare the Final Handing over dossier and maintain proper filing system with full traceability for document retrieval.

8. To have a proactive approach in problem-solving.

9. To manage supplier evaluation and in-process inspection at manufacturing locations, applicable to the respective discipline of specialization.

Desired Candidate Profile

• A 4-year Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, NDT, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Communication Engineering.

• QC experience in reputed organizations involved in EPC projects, construction, piping, structural spool fabrication, or pressure vessel manufacturing with ASME certification for petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, desalination, or power plant projects.

• Facility maintenance QC experience in petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, or infrastructure facilities.

Mechanical

• Knowledge and experience in plumbing, HVAC, static & rotating equipment installation, firefighting systems, and painting for new installations or facility maintenance projects.

• Coordination of NDT activities and review of NDT reports.

• Ability to read and interpret project drawings.

Civil

• Knowledge and experience in soil investigation and batching plant assessment.

• Coordination with clients and subcontractors for field tests on soil and concrete, including third-party tests.

• Conducting pre-concrete inspections and ensuring compliance with drawings and standards.

• Inspection of concreting, fireproofing, and asphalt paving.

• Inspection of building works.

• Guiding land surveyors and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
