Role Purpose:
Manage and optimize the Quality Management System across operations, ensuring food safety compliance, upholding quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role also involves supervising QA activities, fostering collaboration with stakeholders, and promoting quality excellence across supply chains, commissaries, and restaurants.
Role Responsibilities:
- Quality Plan Execution & Management: Support the implementation and management of the annual market Quality Plan.
- Compliance & Audits: Oversee food safety programs, conduct supplier and product approvals, and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.
- Quality and Food Safety Oversight: Supervise DC, Commissary, store audits, monitor product surveillance program, and ensure adherence to AQMS policies.
- Data analysis and Reporting: evaluate quality performance data, generate reports and provide recommendations to the Line Manager for continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Internal teams (Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Maintenance) and external stakeholders (Franchisors, Local Food Authorities, third party auditors) to uphold food safety and quality standards.
- Product Localization & Evaluation: Support local sourcing initiatives, collaborating with vendors to develop raw materials that meet standard specification
- Product Testing and Sensory Assessments: Conduct product evaluations, store trials and sensory testing to ensure quality consistency and compliance.
- Food Safety & Risk Management: Investigate food Safety Complaints, communicate with suppliers to identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to mitigate Risks.
- Training & Development: Conduct annual training Plan and to support upskilling team members to reinforce food safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical engineering, or related field preferred
- Certified as Food Safety Trainer from UAE municipalities (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah,Ajman)
Experience:
- 3+ years management experience in the Food Industry, in QA, Food Manufacturing related roles, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in quick service and or casual dining restaurant.
- Experience in corporate quality systems, compliance, crisis management, food safety guidelines and regulations relation with government bodies.
- Exposure with food manufacturing or food preparation, including an overall understanding of production facilities, quality improvement methods and product development requirements.
- Thought leadership, influencer and change driver
- An interest and passion for food safety and/or workplace safety is needed.
Job Specific Skills:
- Good understanding of food safety management including HACCP.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety principles.
- Good working knowledge of compliance methodologies, eg, Lead auditor, certified internal auditor (CIA).
- Successfully manage relationships across multiple stakeholders.
Generic Skills:
- Able to operate in a multi-brand, multi-market, multiple stakeholder environment.
- Excellent command of Arabic and English verbal and written
- Willing to learn and show personal growth in a specialist team.
