Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for managing: the Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance department. This role includes assisting with the development and implementation of quality control processes, conducting audits, monitoring product quality, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Assist in developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures.
  2. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  3. Monitor and report on quality metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  4. Assist in root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  5. Maintain documentation related to quality standards, procedures, and audits.
  6. Collaborate with various departments (e.g., Production, Engineering, R&D) to ensure product quality throughout the production cycle.
  7. Support training initiatives for staff regarding quality standards, best practices, and food safety guidelines.
  8. Coordinate and track the resolution of quality issues and complaints.
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations (e.g., ISO, GMP, etc.).
  10. Assist in preparing quality assurance reports and audits for management review.
  11. Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance quality systems and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance of food science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Knowledge of quality assurance processes, tools, and techniques.
  3. Familiarity with quality and food safety standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, GFSI, etc.
  4. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
