Job summary

Geotab Inc. in Dubai seeks a Quality Assurance Analyst to support manual testing, design and execute test cases, and help improve QA processes in a fast-paced IoT/embedded environment.

You will split time between hands-on testing and refining QA practices, collaborating with developers and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and ensure testability of requirements. A Dubai-based position with full relocation for candidates outside the UAE is offered.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or in a similar role.
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Understanding of QA practices, processes and tools.
• Expertise in one or more of QA Automation, Manual Testing, Security Testing, Performance Testing, Agile QA.
• Experience in a technical or engineering organization is an asset.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.

Geotab is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst who will support the planning, design, and execution of manual tests while helping to improve our Quality Assurance processes and best practices. This is a Dubai-based position, and full relocation is offered for candidates located outside of the UAE.

What you'll do:

As a Quality Assurance Analyst your key area of responsibility will be designing, creating and executing manual tests, and ensuring that quality issues and defects are identified, documented, tracked and resolved. You will split your time between hands‑on testing and improving our Quality Assurance processes and best practices. You will need to work closely with developers and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, validate test cases based on recommended changes to quality guidelines, and collaborate on problem resolutions.

To be successful in this role you will be a strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to engage with all levels of the organization. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, be highly organized, and be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while responding to fast‑changing priorities and deadlines.

How you'll make an impact:

• Design, create and execute manual tests
• Execute automated test cases within your team, using appropriate and relevant quality assurance techniques
• Ensure quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked and resolved
• Escalate and report bugs as needed
• Proactively identify risks with testing
• Proactively identify improvements in product development and quality assurance processes
• Manage test coverage, environments, and test creation and maintenance
• Organize and prioritize tests, and coordinate or delegate testing efforts within the team where needed
• Work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues and collaborate on problem resolutions
• Manage stories in terms of testability and clarity of requirements
• Recommend application improvements for the user
• Remain current with new testing technologies and improve existing solutions
• Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotating schedule (if applicable)

What you'll bring to this role:

• 1‑3 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or in a similar role
• Post‑secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming
• Understanding of and exposure to a wide array of QA practices, processes and tools
• Expertise in one or more of QA Automation, Manual Testing, Security Testing, Performance Testing, Agile QA
• Experience working within a technical or engineering organization / knowledge of the high‑technology industry is an asset
• Ability to work well under pressure and respond to fast‑changing priorities and deadlines
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and make well‑judged decisions
• Strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization
• Technical competence using software programs, including but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
• Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a flat organization
