Job summary

A leading company in the food industry seeks a Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee compliance with food safety and quality standards. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing procedures related to regulatory requirements, conducting audits, and training employees across the organization. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and relevant experience in the bakery sector.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience in a related role.
  • Experience in the Frozen bakery and Baking Industry.
  • Familiarity with Microbiological Lab processes.

• BRC & FSSC System implementation & Maintenance.

• Regulatory compliance.

• Working experience of SAP/Oracle.

• Experienced in Managing Formulations and BOM.

• Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and food safety requirements.

• Support the preparation and execution of food safety, regulatory, and customer audits.

• Ensure adherence to the requirements of BRC, FSSC 22000, GMP, & Halal certifications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate product and process related information in accordance with company policies.

• Manage and update company profiles on customer databases to ensure current and accurate information.

• Conduct in-house food safety training sessions for employees at all levels and coordinate external training programs as necessary.

• Coordinate with the Quality Manager/AQM to address customer complaints, conduct root cause analyses, develop Corrective and Preventive Actions, and ensure timely resolution.

• Facilitate internal and external audits, respond to audit findings, and implement CAPA to ensure closure.

• Assist the Quality Manager/AQM in developing the annual audit, training, and supplier visit plans.

• Conduct supplier audits, prepare comprehensive audit reports, and communicate findings and improvement requirements to suppliers.

• Prepare monthly reports and maintain accurate records of SOPs, document revisions, and related documentation.

• Responsible for examining products and processes for deviations from manufacturer or industry product quality / food safety specifications.

• Demonstrate competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality, and/or quality.

• Report all deviations/Non-conformities related to Food Safety Management System to the department Manager.

• Conduct quality inspection and analysis of all raw materials/PM, semi-finished, and finished products.

• Practice and comply with all company policies and procedures including safety and work rules.

• Handle customer complaints and maintain CAR.

• Report incidents or near misses related to occupational health and safety promptly.

• Perform other duties as assigned by immediate manager.

• Do not interfere with or misuse any device or equipment provided as part of a risk control measure.
