Job summary

A leading food company in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee food safety management systems. The role involves implementing BRC & FSSC standards, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field, along with at least 2 years of experience in the baking or frozen bakery industry. Strong analytical skills and familiarity with SAP/Oracle are also essential. This position offers a dynamic work environment focusing on food safety and quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in the field is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or Microbiology.
  • Experience in the frozen bakery industry is preferred.
  • Experience in the baking industry is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with microbiological lab practices.
  • Working experience with SAP or Oracle.

Responsibilities
  • BRC & FSSC System implementation & Maintenance.
  • Regulatory compliance.
  • Working experience of SAP/Oracle.
  • Experienced in Managing Formulations and BOM.
  • Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and food safety requirements.
  • Support the preparation and execution of food safety, regulatory, and customer audits.
  • Ensure adherence to the requirements of BRC, FSSC 22000, GMP, & Halal certifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate product and process related information in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage and update company profiles on customer databases to ensure current and accurate information.
  • Conduct in-house food safety training sessions for employees at all levels and coordinate external training programs as when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Manager/AQM to address customer complaints, conduct root cause analyses, develop Corrective and Preventive Actions, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits, respond to audit findings, and implement CAPA to ensure closure.
  • Assist the Quality Manager/AQM in developing the annual audit, training, and supplier visit plans.
  • Conduct supplier audits, prepare comprehensive audit reports, and communicate findings and improvement requirements to suppliers.
  • Prepare monthly reports and maintain accurate records of SOPs, document revisions, and related documentation.
  • Responsible for examining products and process for deviations from manufacturer or industry product quality / food safety specifications.
  • Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality.
  • Report all deviations/Non-conformities related to Food safety management system to the department Manager.
  • Quality inspection and analysis of all raw materials/PM, semi-finished and finished products.
  • Practices and complies with all company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
  • Handling customer complaint and maintaining CAR.
  • Report as soon as practical and without undue delay to supervisors any incidents or near misses which relate to occupational health and safety at the workplace.
  • Any other duties as assigned by immediate manager.
  • Do not interfere or misuse any device or equipment which has been provided as a part of a risk control measure.
