Job description

Monitor and develop / deliver plans to meet all regulatory frameworks and Group policies and standards in the areas of HSE, including product stewardship, e.g., GHS. Review internal HSE policies and practices against these requirements to ensure they are current and appropriate; conduct hazard and risk assessments and change existing or develop new recommendations from these assessments.

Ensure a safe working culture and environment in all operational and non-operational areas, including:

  • Identify hazards and risks associated with employees, interested parties, and the environment, considering our activities and processes.
  • Eliminate, minimize or control identified hazards and risks.

Ensure compliance with Fosroc HSE requirements, legislative/regulatory standards, and ISO requirements.

Establish a framework for continuous monitoring and improvement of HSE performance within the organization.

Train and update all staff on relevant HSE processes and systems, ensuring ongoing competency.

Coordinate the renewal of all HSE-related licenses and permits with relevant departments.

Implement and enforce company HSE policies, standards, and procedures across all activities.

Develop safety inspection programs and oversee their implementation. Assist with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and inspect job site activities, especially in hazardous situations.

Update and rehearse the Emergency Response Manual (ERM) in line with current directions. Supervise inspections of firefighting, safety, and emergency equipment.

Develop and implement emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.

Enforce permit-to-work and special permit systems at all times.

Conduct incident investigations to identify root and contributory causes, and prepare reports and action plans to prevent recurrence.

Perform formal risk assessments for hazardous, new, and unusual tasks according to Fosroc Risk Assessment Methodology.

Assist departments in preparing and implementing Safe Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).

Support local management in preparing and presenting HSE performance reports and metrics during meetings.

Conduct HSE inductions for new employees, visitors, and contractors.

Prepare monthly HSE reports, statistics, and presentations on HSE performance.

Conduct internal HSE audits regularly and follow up on action points.

Coordinate internal ISO audits and liaise with external assessors for revalidation, as needed.

Oversee HSE supervision during internal projects and document all related activities per company standards.

Perform other HSE duties as assigned by senior management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent in occupational health and safety.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
