Job Summary:
The QC Supervisor Piping is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality control of piping fabrication, installation, testing, and inspection activities in compliance with ADNOC, international codes (ASME, API, ANSI), and project specifications. The role involves supervising QC inspectors, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring all piping works meet quality standards before handover.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control & Inspection:
- Ensure piping fabrication, welding, installation, and testing comply with ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, API 570, and project specifications.
- Conduct inspections of pipe supports, valves, flanges, gaskets, and welding joints (visual, dimensional, NDT).
- Review WPS, PQR, WPQ, ITP, and material certifications for compliance.
- Monitor hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, alignment, and fit-up of piping systems.
- Verify material traceability (MTCs), PWHT, and NDE reports (RT, UT, PT, MT).
2. Compliance & Documentation:- Ensure adherence to ADNOC VAP (Vendor Approval Process), COP (Code of Practice), and approved ITPs.
- Maintain QC records, inspection reports, weld maps, and punch lists.
- Review as-built drawings, MDRs (Manufacturer Data Records), and handover dossiers.
- Coordinate with Third-Party Inspectors (TPI), Client Reps, and Certifying Authorities.
3. Supervision & Coordination:- Lead a team of QC inspectors and NDT technicians.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and quality audits.
- Liaise with construction, engineering, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure non-conformance reports (NCRs) are properly addressed and closed.
4. HSE & Standards:- Enforce ADNOC HSE standards, Permit-to-Work (PTW), and COSHH regulations.
- Promote a "Zero Defect" culture and continuous improvement in quality processes.
Qualifications & Experience:- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI/CSWIP 3.1) or ASNT Level II (RT, UT, PT, MT).
- Minimum 7 years of QC piping experience in oil & gas (ADNOC experience preferred).
- Familiarity with ADNOC, Shell, or other major oil company standards.
- Strong knowledge of SAP, Aconex, and QC software.
Skills & Competencies:- Strong technical knowledge of piping codes (ASME B31.3, API 570).
- Ability to interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and weld procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, QC reporting, and punch list management.
