Job summary

SAMSUNG E&A is seeking a QC Inspector for Refractory & Fire Proofing to join its QA/QC team in a full-time capacity. The role focuses on ensuring high-temperature linings and passive fire protection systems meet drawings, specifications, and codes on site.

You will develop ITPs, maintain inspection records, and coordinate with clients and subcontractors. A minimum of 8 years in QA/QC within Oil & Gas or Petrochemical is required, with API 936 and NACE/AMPP or FROSIO certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Civil).
• Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or refining industries.
• Familiarity with project specifications and standards; GCC experience desirable.
• Mandatory API 936 (Refractory Personnel) certification.
• Mandatory NACE / AMPP Level 2/3 OR FROSIO Level II/III certification.

Responsibilities

• Control inspection status using inspection matrix.
• Set and apply practical inspection process based on project requirements and International Codes; provide ITPs and manage matrix.
• Prepare inspection records reflected on MC Doc.
• Close NCRs within due dates and assist in Corrective Action Plans.
• Perform and coordinate inspections with client.
• Carry out QC Supervisor responsibilities in absence.
• Conduct preparatory meetings with subcontractors.

General Characteristics (Job Summary)

• Contribute to the improvement of the site quality by handling quality issues on the site in general according to the corporate and project quality standards
• Responsible for maintaining quality activities in accordance with quality management system established
• Establishing inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes & standards
• Carrying out inspections on discipline
• Responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result
• Ensuring inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix

Roles and Responsibilities

• Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix
• Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP & managing Matrix)
• Preparing the Inspection records to be reflected on MC Doc.
• Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly
• Performing and coordinating inspection with client
• Carrying out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in his/her absence
• Conducting Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to discipline Definable Features of Work.

Scope of Work

• Ensures that high-temperature linings (furnaces, boilers, reactors) and passive fire protection (PFP) systems on structural steel and equipment conform strictly to engineering drawings, project specifications, and industry standards

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Civil).

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or refining industries.
• Familiarity with project specifications and standards, and medium to large-sized project experience
• Relevant working experience in GCC Engineering & construction companies.

Knowledge

• Minimum 3+ years of direct experience in the inspection, testing, and application of refractory linings (FCCUs, heaters, reformers)
• Passive fireproofing (PFP) materials.
• Mandatory Certifications - API 936 (Refractory Personnel)
• Mandatory Certifications - NACE / AMPP Level 2/3 OR FROSIO Level II/III or equivalent specialized PFP/Coating certification.
