Job summary

SAMSUNG E&A seeks an experienced QA/QC professional to lead inspection and quality control on our Taziz Methanol Project. You will oversee ITPs, document inspections, and ensure conformity to international codes and project standards.

The role requires strong coordination with clients and subcontractors. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in QA/QC within Oil & Gas or petrochemical sectors, GCC experience, and certifications like API 936 and NACE/AMPP or FROSIO.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or refining industries.
• Familiarity with project specifications and standards, and medium to large-sized project experience.
• GCC experience with engineering & construction companies.
• Must be knowledgeable in inspection, testing and application of refractory linings and PFP materials.

Responsibilities

• Control inspection status using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
• Prepare inspection records and MC Doc reflections.
• Coordinate inspections with client and conduct meetings with subcontractors.
• Close NCRs within due dates and support Corrective Action Plans.
• Mentor and guide team members on QA/QC practices.

Job Description

General Characteristics (Job Summary)

• Contribute to the improvement of the site quality by handling quality issues on the site in general according to the corporate and project quality standards
• Responsible for maintaining quality activities in accordance with quality management system established
• Establishing inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes & standards
• Carrying out inspections on discipline
• Responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result
• Ensuring inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix

Roles and Responsibilities

• Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix
• Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP & managing Matrix)
• Preparing the Inspection records to be reflected on MC Doc.
• Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly
• Performing and coordinating inspection with client
• Carrying out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in his/her absence
• Conducting Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to discipline Definable Features of Work.

Scope of Work

• Ensures that high-temperature linings (furnaces, boilers, reactors) and passive fire protection (PFP) systems on structural steel and equipment conform strictly to engineering drawings, project specifications, and industry standards

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Civil).

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or refining industries.
• Familiarity with project specifications and standards, and medium to large-sized project experience
• Relevant working experience in GCC Engineering & construction companies.

Knowledge

• Minimum 3+ years of direct experience in the inspection, testing, and application of refractory linings (FCCUs, heaters, reformers)
• Passive fireproofing (PFP) materials.
• Mandatory Certifications - API 936 (Refractory Personnel)
• Mandatory Certifications - NACE / AMPP Level 2/3 OR FROSIO Level II/III or equivalent specialized PFP/Coating certification.
