SAMSUNG E&A in Abu Dhabi is seeking a QA/QC Inspector for piping to perform inspections and ensure conformance to international codes. You will lead ITP, MAR, and RFI processes with clients, review related QAQC documents, and coordinate with subcontractors for quality handover.

The role requires Diploma in engineering and piping discipline certification, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. On-site work at the Taziz Methanol Project offers accommodations and medical coverage.

Qualifications

Diploma in engineering or equivalent formal engineering education.
Certificate related to Piping disciplines.
Experience from project start to completion.
Familiar with international codes and standards in piping.

Responsibilities

Manage and perform inspection of Piping discipline.
Generate client RFIs with notice for hold, witness and inspection.
Review ITPs, MARs, and related QAQC documents.
Inspect and approve test packages, hydro tests, and NCRs.
Coordinate inspections with client and supervise QC in absence.
Control NCRs and implement corrective actions.
Review material submittals and conduct material inspections.
Conduct preparatory meetings with subcontractors for piping.
Monitor backlog and ensure timely completions.

Job Description

General Characteristics (Job Summary)

Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result.
Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.

Roles and Responsibilities

Managing and performing inspection of Piping discipline
Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP and managing Matrix).
Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
Carry out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in their absence.
Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
Review and track material submittals required for Piping Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Piping Definable Features of Work.
Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
Review pre-fabricated spool release, welding history and perform inspections.
Review and Approval of Test Packages, line walk, punch preparation and Hydro test inspection.
Monitor RT backlog as per project requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum education level

Diploma in engineering
Certificate related to Piping disciplines.

Experience

From project start to completion.

Knowledge

Technical knowledge and familiar with related international codes and standards in particular discipline.
Able to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used.
Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations and figuring out solutions.
Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale project (0.5~1.5 billion dollar).
Manage to anticipate inter-related discipline outcome to minimize reworks.
Ability to use measuring and testing equipment.
