Job summary

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced QC Inspector – Piping to ensure fabrication and installation meet project drawings, ITPs and QCPs.

You will inspect materials, fittings, welds, isometrics, and coordinate with QA/QC, Production and third parties; you will raise NCRs and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of QC Inspector – Piping experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, fabrication, offshore, marine, or heavy engineering.
• Strong experience in piping fabrication and installation inspection.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections of piping fabrication and installation per specs and ITPs.
• Inspect piping materials, fittings, flanges, valves for spec compliance.
• Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, and fabrication tolerances.
• Witness welding to ensure WPS/PQR compliance and qualified welders.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections of piping fabrication and installation activities in accordance with approved drawings specifications ITPs QCPs and project requirements
• Inspect piping materials fittings flanges valves and other components for compliance with approved specifications and documentation
• Verify pipe fit-up joint preparation alignment orientation dimensions and fabrication tolerances
• Inspect piping welding activities and verify compliance with approved WPS PQRs and qualified welder requirements
• Review piping isometric drawings general arrangement drawings specifications and other relevant technical documents
• Coordinate and witness inspections and testing with QA QC Engineering Production clients and third-party inspectors
• Ensure inspection activities are carried out in accordance with approved ITPs and QCPs
• Review and verify NDT reports and ensure required inspections are completed
• Inspect and witness hydrostatic pressure testing flushing and related piping testing activities
• Verify material identification and traceability throughout the fabrication and installation process
• Raise and follow up on NCRs and support the resolution of quality-related issues
• Maintain accurate inspection records reports checklists and quality documentation
• Support preparation and compilation of final quality dossiers and handover documentation
• Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve technical and quality issues affecting fabrication progress
• Ensure compliance with applicable project specifications codes standards and client requirements
• Promote compliance with Company QHSE policies and procedures
• Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the QA QC Manager

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a QC Inspector – Piping within Oil & Gas, EPC, fabrication, offshore, marine, or heavy engineering environments.
• Strong experience in piping fabrication and installation inspection
• Hands-on knowledge of piping fit-up, welding inspection, dimensional inspection, material traceability, NDT, and pressure testing.
• Good understanding of ITPs, QCPs, WPS/PQRs, NCRs, inspection test packs, and quality dossiers.
• Knowledge of applicable piping, welding, fabrication, and inspection codes and standards.
• CSWIP 3.1, AWS, ASNT, or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, AWS, and other applicable Oil & Gas standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with AutoCAD or document management systems is an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
