Job Description


Job Title: QC Inspector (Instrumentation & Telecom)

Employer Industry: Engineering / Construction / Oil and Gas
Work location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Experience: Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics/Telecom Engineering or related field.
Requirements: Minimum 5+ years of QC inspection experience in oil & gas (ADNOC experience preferred).

Job Purpose:
The QC Inspector (Instrumentation & Telecom) ensures that all instrumentation and telecom installations, testing, and commissioning activities comply with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and international codes (e.g., IEC, ISA, ANSI, API, BS, NEC). The role involves inspection, testing, and documentation to ensure quality compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspection & Testing:

  • Perform receiving, installation, and pre-commissioning inspections for instrumentation & telecom systems.
  • Verify compliance with ADNOC COP, project specifications, and approved ITPs.
  • Inspect:Field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters, control valves, etc.)
  • Control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, F&G systems)
  • Telecom systems (FOC, LAN, PA/GA, CCTV, radio systems, telecom towers)
  • Cable laying, terminations, grounding, and loop checks
  • Witness calibration, loop testing, functional tests, and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests).
2. Documentation & Reporting:
  • Review inspection reports, calibration certificates, test records, and material certifications.
  • Ensure as-built drawings, loop diagrams, and datasheets are updated.
  • Maintain QC dossiers, punch lists, and NCR (Non-Conformance Reports).
  • Verify vendor compliance for telecom & instrumentation equipment.
3. Compliance & Standards:
  • Ensure adherence to ADNOC, IEC 61511, ISA, API, ATEX, and NEC standards.
  • Follow HAZOP, SIL, and safety integrity requirements.
  • Conduct visual & dimensional inspections per approved procedures.
4. Coordination & Supervision:
  • Liaise with contractors, vendors, and ADNOC representatives.
  • Monitor welding, cabling, and hazardous area installations (Exd, Exe, Exi).
  • Attend QC meetings, progress reviews, and FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) if required.
5. Punch List & Handover:
  • Track and close punch list items for instrumentation & telecom systems.
  • Support commissioning and handover to operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics/Telecom Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of QC inspection experience in oil & gas (ADNOC experience preferred).
  • Certifications:
  • CSWIP 3.2 / AWS-CWI (for welding inspections, if applicable)
  • ISO 9001 QMS Lead Auditor (preferred)
  • ATEX / IECEx (for hazardous area inspections)
  • NDT Level II (PT, MT, UT, RT) (optional but beneficial)
  • Familiarity with ADNOC ETS (Engineering Technical Standards).
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of instrument calibration, loop testing, and telecom systems.
  • Proficiency in QC software (e.g., Aconex, SAP, Document Control Systems).
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and telecom layouts.
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills.
