Job Purpose
The QA/QC Engineer (Civil) will be responsible for ensuring quality standards across all phases of building construction projects—from substructure works through handover. This role requires a strong background in UAE building projects, excellent knowledge of QA/QC systems, and the ability to coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and third-party laboratories to achieve compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee quality assurance and quality control procedures throughout all construction stages (substructure, PT slabs, waterproofing, façade, interior and exterior finishes)
- Prepare, review, and update Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and checklists
- Manage material submissions and approvals in line with project requirements
- Raise and review Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs)
- Coordinate with third-party laboratories for testing and verification
- Maintain and monitor concrete pour cards to ensure quality compliance
- Raise and close out internal NCRs and support consultants in closing NCRs
- Conduct factory visits to inspect quality of materials under production when required
- Liaise with subcontractors, construction (Civil & MEP) teams, and consultants to ensure all QA/QC processes are followed
- Handle internal and external quality audits, ensuring full compliance with ISO and company standards
- Develop and implement Project Quality Plans (PQP), QA/QC policies, and procedures
- Carry out periodic site visits and inspections to verify compliance with QA/QC standards
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the UAE (at least 5 years in mid/high-rise building projects)
- Strong technical knowledge across the full project lifecycle—from substructure to handover
- Proficiency in preparing Method Statements, ITPs, PQPs, checklists, and QA/QC procedures
- Experience in coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, and third-party laboratories
- Familiarity with concrete quality control, material inspections, NCR management, and audits
- Excellent knowledge of UAE construction standards and quality regulations
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or equivalent)
- Experience with façade, waterproofing, and interior/exterior finishing quality inspections
- Strong documentation, reporting, and problem-solving skills
