To ensure that all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) works are executed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and statutory requirements. The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for establishing quality procedures, conducting inspections, coordinating with consultants/clients, and maintaining documentation for MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the project quality plan and quality procedures for MEP works.
- Monitor and ensure all MEP site activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Conduct inspections and witness testing of MEP installations, including HVAC, firefighting, electrical systems, drainage, and water supply.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to ensure quality compliance and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), checklists, and other QA/QC documentation.
- Review MEP materials and ensure proper storage and installation as per approved specifications.
- Perform internal audits to ensure quality standards are maintained across the project.
- Raise and follow up on NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and ensure timely closure with corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the handover process by ensuring all QA/QC documentation is complete and in compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date QA/QC records, reports, and logs for inspections, testing, and material approvals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in QA/QC roles for MEP works in construction projects (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
- Solid knowledge of international standards (ASHRAE, DEWA, NFPA, ISO, etc.).
- Strong experience in testing, commissioning, and inspections of MEP systems.
- Familiarity with third-party inspection processes and documentation.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and QA/QC software.
- Certification in ISO 9001:2015, QA/QC, or related fields is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Certifications:
- MEP QA/QC Certification
- DEWA/ADDC/Transco/Etisalat approvals (if required for the project)
