Overview

JOB PURPOSE: Ensure that proper quality control is exercised for all equipment and materials at Company workshop. Responsibilities include carrying out a physical check of all received goods and spares to ensure these comply with quality requirements stipulated by the company. Check all documentation submitted with the goods and confirms these are in conformance with company requirements. Maintain traceability and quality conformance records of received material. Carry out periodic checks of material to confirm the storage of these at the workshop is in accordance with manufacturer recommendations for prevention of material degradation where necessary. Ensure all equipment fabrication and maintenance is carried out in accordance with established company procedures and OEM requirements, following a proper inspection & test plan. Attend inspections at Land Rigs when called upon to do so for assessing damage and/or participating in failure inquiries.

Key Accountabilities
  • Carries out examination of all materials and spares received at company warehouse in Bida Al Oshaneh and workshop to ensure that the material complies with the quality requirements stipulated in the delivery documents.
  • Physically examines all received goods to ensure that these are received free of defects or damages and that such goods have been delivered in a manner that does not compromise the quality of the received goods.
  • Issues quality acceptance for all goods that are delivered at company warehouse after carrying out the examination of such material.
  • Carries out a check of all documentation for critical equipment at Bida Al Oshaneh, where the company purchase requirements have stipulated certain conformance standards. This check includes carrying out independent verification of received documentation, where deemed necessary.
  • Establishes a system and keeps a record of all quality conformance documentation of received material.
  • Establishes a quality system for all construction and maintenance/overhaul activity carried out at Bida Al Oshaneh workshop. This includes developing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for all activity in the Workshop.
  • Keeps track of all non-conformities of quality compliance and ensures these NCRs are closed in timely manner.
  • Carries out periodic audit of the quality processes and procedures adopted by the execution teams at Bida Al Oshaneh Workshop to confirm that the maintenance/overhauls of equipment has been carried out in conformance with established systems. Reports findings to Division Manager for system improvements.
  • Ensures that the packaging of material for dispatch to sites is suitable to ensure the integrity of material till delivery at rig site bearing in mind the mode of shipment.
  • Inspects goods and materials where such items are returned from sites (for reasons of non-acceptance). Records the condition of such material and issues a condition certificate. Recommends storage requirements to ensure no deterioration of goods till return to supplier(s).
  • Attends quality inspections by third parties as requested at Bida Al Oshaneh base.
  • Issues a weekly report of quality activities in connection with all quality activities at Bida Al Oshaneh.
  • Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Minimum Qualification
    Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering followed by specialised training in quality systems.
  • Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
    5 years of experience of quality activities with good knowledge of materials and structures, preferably of oil field materials and equipment.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
