Purchasing Engineer - Civil Material

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer with expertise in civil materials to oversee the evaluation and inspection of material grades and quality during delivery to construction sites. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that procured materials meet project specifications, industry standards, and company quality expectations.

Material Procurement

• Collaborate with project teams to identify material requirements based on project specifications.
• Identify, evaluate, and determine material grade and quality of civil materials delivered by suppliers to ensure materials are received as per the purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of high-quality civil materials.

Quality Assurance And Inspection

• Inspect materials upon delivery to the site, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations.
• Perform detailed checks on material grades, certifications, and accompanying documentation.
• Identify and document discrepancies or substandard materials, escalating issues for resolution.

Vendor Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Conduct regular audits of supplier quality processes and facilities to ensure adherence to quality expectations.

Compliance And Standards

• Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to civil materials.
• Ensure all procured materials align with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the construction, procurement, and project management teams to coordinate material deliveries and resolve quality issues.
• Provide technical guidance on material selection and usage for projects.

Qualification And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, inspection, or quality control of civil materials in construction projects.

Technical Skills

• Deep understanding of civil material properties, grades, and quality standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office, procurement software, and ERP systems.
• Detail-oriented and proactive approach to quality assurance.
