The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for analyzing purchasing data, evaluating supplier performance, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. They play a critical role in optimizing procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Responsibilities
Analyze purchasing data, trends, and historical spending to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for process improvement.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate market conditions, and monitor industry trends.
Assess supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and compliance with contractual agreements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals.
Assist in negotiating supplier contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements.
Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier performance metrics.
Prepare reports and dashboards to present key procurement performance indicators and recommendations to management.
Monitor inventory levels and work with inventory management teams to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs.
Identify and address supply chain disruptions and recommend contingency plans.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or a similar role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Excel.
